Materials & Care

All our jewellery has been made with love by us, to be well-loved by you. By providing proper care and attention, your jewellery will maintain its shine and beauty for years to come. We have great confidence in the quality of our pieces, and we want you to know that we are always here to take care of your jewellery if needed. Below, we have provided a list of the materials we use in our jewellery, along with helpful tips for taking care of them.

How to Wear

  • Take off your jewellery before showering, swimming, or using beauty products like lotions and perfumes, as exposure to water and chemicals can cause tarnishing or corrosion, especially for delicate metals.
  • Incorporate your jewellery into the last step of your beauty routine, ensuring it’s the finishing touch to minimize exposure to beauty products and chemicals that can accelerate tarnishing.

How to Store

  • Store your jewellery in a safe, dry place away from daily exposure to protect against the elements.
  • Keep pieces separated to prevent damage.
  • Ensure all jewellery is completely dry before storing.
  • Consider storing your pieces in our leather jewellery boxes lined with anti-tarnish microsuede fabric for easy care and cleaning. Alternatively, you can store them in the suede pouches we provide when you receive the jewellery.

How to Clean

  • To clean with a polishing cloth, gently buff the entire piece until any discolouration or marks are no longer visible.
  • Ensure pieces are completely dry before storing.
  • Regularly cleaning your pieces helps to avoid the residue buildup that can dull the original shine.

Care Guide by Material

925 Sterling Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. Fine silver is relatively soft, so silver is usually alloyed with copper to increase its hardness and strength.

How to Care

Try to avoid extreme humidity or heat as this may cause tarnishing. Your 925 sterling silver jewellery should be kept in a dark, cool, dry place.

Your jewellery is particularly susceptible to damage from the effects of chemicals present in perfume, hairspray, make-up, nail polish remover, body oils, sun tan lotion and deodorant.

Do not swim or shower while wearing your jewellery. Gold and silver are particularly susceptible to damage from chlorine and salt water, which can permanently damage or discolour them.

Gold plated jewellery is the process by which a base metal is dipped into a bath of electroplating solution along with a lump of solid gold creating a layer over the sterling silver metal. Our gold plated jewellery is made by electroplating 18k gold onto durable silver.

How to Care

Keep gold plated jewellery away from hard surfaces. Bumps and scratches will cause the gold layer to wear away faster. Store your gold plated jewellery in our velvet pouch or wrap it in a soft material that will prevent scratches.

Lightly wipe your gold plated jewellery with a damp cotton cloth; this helps maintain or bring back its shine. If necessary, you can use a mild washing up liquid with warm water and a soft toothbrush, then rinse with clean water and pat dry with a soft cloth.

Remove your jewellery before exercising, washing your hands or showering. Always apply perfumes, creams and hair care products before wearing.

Gold vermeil jewellery is the highest standard when it comes to gold plated jewellery. It is in the same family as gold plated jewellery, the difference is that it is created by a thicker layer of gold plating. We use 18k gold that is a minimum of 2.5 microns thick layered over sterling silver.

How to Care

Clean your gold vermeil jewellery carefully with a soft 100% cotton, non-abrasive and lint-free.

Be gentle! You can scratch your jewellery while you’re cleaning it if you aren’t careful so don’t rub it too briskly. This helps maintain or bring back it’s shine.

Our platinum-plated jewellery boasts exceptional qualities: hypoallergenic, incredibly lustrous, and resistant to tarnish. Its durability ensures longevity, while its tarnish-resistant nature maintains a pristine appearance over time. Crafted from high-quality sterling silver, our silver-coloured pieces are enhanced with platinum plating, adding a bright white sheen that elevates their beauty.

How to Care

The best way to keep platinum plated sterling silver jewellery lustrous and reflective is by maintaining it carefully. For this, avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive equipment on your jewellery.

Clean your platinum plated jewellery carefully with mild liquid soaps, warm water and soft brushes/cloths.

Zircon is a natural, magnificent gemstone of many colors. Zircon comes closer to resembling diamond than any other natural gem. Its strong luster and intense fire gives it a real sparkle that is comparable to diamond. Natural zircon is rare and more expensive than cubic zirconia, used by many. Our zircon stones are premium quality imported from Italy.

How to Care

Your zircon stone jewellery is particularly susceptible to damage from the effects of chemicals.

Warm, soapy water is recommended for cleaning zircon pieces.

Examples of semi-precious stones we use for our jewellery include onyx, amazonite, amethyst, and fildisi, each possessing its own distinct beauty and properties.

How to Care

Avoid harsh chemicals. Semi-precious stones can be sensitive to chemicals found in everyday products like lotions, perfumes, and household cleaners. Avoid exposing your stones to these substances to prevent damage or discolouration.

Clean your semi-precious stones regularly using a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and oils. For tougher stains, use a mild soap diluted in warm water and a soft brush to gently scrub the surface. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft cloth.

Store your semi-precious stone jewellery separately from other pieces to prevent scratching or chipping. Consider storing them in individual pouches or compartments to keep them safe from abrasion.

Exposure to extreme heat or cold can cause certain semi-precious stones to crack or become damaged. Avoid leaving your jewellery in direct sunlight or in overly hot or cold environments for prolonged periods.

Our cultured freshwater pearls are pearls that are farmed and created using freshwater mussels. They are sensitive in nature, so don’t forget to treat them with love.

How to Care

Pearls should be the last thing you put on before going out and the first thing you take off when you come home. Clean your pearl pieces with a soft cloth to keep in great condition.

Avoid direct contact with chemicals found in perfume or other cosmetics. Store individually in a safe, dry place when not worn.
